Supported Languages in the Hello Customer Platform
The Hello Customer platform supports survey invitations and feedback collection in 30 languages. This is important when configuring your touchpoint languages and when uploading participant files. For the participant files, you must specify each respondent's language using the correct ISO 639-1 code. This article lists all supported languages and their corresponding codes.

1. What is the ISO 639-1 language code?
ISO 639-1 is an international standard that defines two-letter codes for languages. The Hello Customer platform uses these codes to determine in which language a survey invitation and questionnaire will be presented to the respondent.
Examples of ISO 639-1 codes:
- EN → English
- FR → French
- NL → Dutch
- DE → German
IMPORTANT
The language column is mandatory in every participant file, even if your touchpoint only uses a single language. If the language code is missing or invalid, the upload will fail.
2. Full list of supported languages
The table below lists all 30 languages supported by the Hello Customer platform, along with their ISO 639-1 codes to be used in the language column of your participant file.

3. Using language codes in your participant file
When creating your CSV participant file, follow these rules for the language column:
- Always include a language column — it is mandatory.
- Use the exact 2-letter ISO 639-1 code as listed in the table above (e.g., EN, FR, NL).
- Codes are case-insensitive but uppercase is recommended for consistency.
- Do not leave the language cell empty for any row — empty cells will cause the upload to fail.
- If your touchpoint only has one language, simply repeat that language's code for every row.
